ESTIMATOR

Job Duties & Responsibilities:

 

  • Communicate and coordinate with estimating team throughout all phases of estimating.

  • Communicate with Architects, Engineers, Owner Reps, etc.

  • Maintain bid solicitation information and pricing database.

  • Generate bid lists, invitation to bid (ITBs), requests for information (RFIs), itemized material takeoff lists, value engineering lists (VE), etc.

  • Review and understand all bid documents (drawings, specifications, geotechnical reports, LEED documents, etc.).

  • Solicit bids from subcontractors and suppliers.

  • Perform quantity take-offs for bids and conceptual budgets.

  • Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers for the purposes of qualifying bids, producing VE lists, answering RFI’s, etc.

  • Periodic travel to jobsites

 

Requirements:

 

  • Minimum of two years’ experience with multi-family construction.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite

  • Experience with On-Screen Takeoff, SmartBid, Sage Estimating is advantageous

  • Possess excellent documentation/reporting skills

  • Must be an effective communicator and have good planning and organizational skills.

  • Self-starter with the ability to manage multiple priorities

  • Working knowledge of construction means and methods.

  • Should be able to read and understand all drawings and specifications.

  • Effectively participate in a team environment
